The Story

BEST-SELLING MARIMEKKO TABLEWARE - BUNDLE + SAVE. MORE MUGS = MORE SAVINGS.

Marimekko's 15cm Unikko plate features Maija Isola's iconic floral pattern in vibrant shades of red. Available in a range of colourways, the small rectangular plate is part of Sami Ruotsalainen's clean-lined Oiva tableware collection that suits both relaxed and festive settings.

The Unikko pattern came about in 1964 after Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, announced in public that no floral fabrics are designed at Marimekko. Maija Isola, the renowned Finnish designer, did not accept rules or restrictions and designed a complete collection of bold floral patterns in protest: Unikko, a Finnish word that means poppy. Today, Unikko is one of Marimekko's best-known patterns and recognised around the world.

Marimekko porcelain plates are dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe; glazed colours and pattern remain vibrant.
