The Story

BEST-SELLING MARIMEKKO HOME DECOR - WE HAVE AUSTRALIA'S LARGEST COLLECTION

Marimekko’s Pieni Unikko apron features Maija Isola’s iconic floral pattern in black + white. Made from a heavyweight cotton, this beautiful yet practical full-length apron features a convenient front pocket, adjustable neck strap and waist bands that can be tied at the front or back, depending on your style.

The Unikko pattern came about in 1964 after Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, announced in public that no floral fabrics are designed at Marimekko. Maija Isola, the renowned Finnish designer, did not accept rules or restrictions and designed a complete collection of bold floral patterns in protest: Unikko, a Finnish word that means poppy. Today, Unikko is one of Marimekko's best-known patterns and recognised around the world.
